Many thanks to @bloomsburychildrens for this copy. πŸ’œ

I am so proud of everything the @bg_bookclub stands for, everything they have achieved thus far and all that’s to come. Congratulations ladies, Grown is a game-changer.

The first of its kind, Natalie & Melissa have created an all-encompassing guide containing painstaking research, that every Black British girl needs on their bookshelf, that every carer, relative, or parent of Black girls needs to read with them too.

Straight in with a foreword from icon, Mel B, the reader knows that Melissa & Natalie mean business. From what books to read, to details on haircare and how to approach your career, the well-seasoned authors and contributors have you covered.

But what sets Grown apart from other guides is that every single page of each chapter is delivered with so much heart, hope, joyfulness, and experience. Peppered with personal anecdotes from Natalie, Melissa, and several other testimonials and working examples from trailblazers far and wide, every reader will close each chapter with an extra skillset and a confidence boost.

The resounding feeling I had when reading this book was β€œwhy haven’t I read a book like this before now!?” and that this book needs to be written and available for girls of from all backgrounds, because it is extremely valuable. As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child and for the Black girls for which Grown is written, there is a whole army of Black girls behind you right here. Uplifting and essential,
