About Us

Connected through friendship and family, The Candid Book Club was founded in 2016 with the aim of getting as many people reading along with us as possible.

We are Mimi, Omma, Jess, Linda and Tanya, five unique, well-read women of colour who lend their candid voices to books new, old and borrowed across different genres, from fiction to non-fiction, classic and contemporary.

We are passionate about championing diverse stories and authors and promoting reading for all.

Our global platform has attracted thousands of bookworms, selling out virtual and in-person events. With our candour and wit, we give you honest reviews across our platforms. Our strong bond and camaraderie bring a fun, accessible, and relaxed vibe to the best bookish events and occasions.

We are currently hosting events at London's iconic Waterstones Piccadilly.
