Meet Omma
I’ve always loved reading as a kid so I’m glad it’s a hobby I’ve held onto in adulthood! Starting this page for me was just a way to encourage myself to read more and I’m so blown away by this cute little book community we’ve all formed!
I love being part of this book page which has become our own girl gang! Becoming a personal library for friends and getting them back into reading and actually just reading is so cool to me!
Also being able to meet so many booklovers at our events has been one of the best things ever! Having that common interest makes even socially awkward beings feel accepted!
Along with reviews, I’ve also loved the creative side this page has allowed me to explore! Being able to design the our events posters, creating our bookmarks and even input in our logo has been so fun! Even taking book pictures in public has become less awkward!
I grew up in the Harry Potter era so that’s when I really remember falling in love with reading and being obsessed with this imaginary world I could visualise in my head!
I don’t think I have a specific genre I read more but I generally lean towards fiction. I’ve also started to put more Islamic non-fictions on my radar to boost my own spirituality!
So a few of my fave books:
The Godfather by Mario Puzo (made me love the film even more! I’m also a self-proclaimed movie buff, send me recs!)
Normal People by Sally Rooney
We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Don’t Skip Out On Me by Willy Vlautin
Autobiography of Malcolm X by Malcolm X and Alex Healy
The Harry Potter series (obv) by JK Rowling
