I adored this book! As Mimi said in her review, I think Huma is becoming one of my favourite authors too! Thereā€™s just something about her writing that feelsā€¦homely!

I never thought Iā€™d enjoy short stories because Iā€™m always wanting more. I need that closure but I felt like each story ended perfectly, I mean if Huma wrote a whole book on a few of these Iā€™d happily read them lol but they were great the way they were!
In terms of short stories, Iā€™ve read books like Murakamiā€™s Men without Women - I just didnā€™t enjoy it and it didnā€™t have the same effect on me. So when the girls mentioned this book I was a little hesitant but I loved every bit of it!

I canā€™t pick a favourite story because I genuinely enjoyed them all. Thereā€™s a few that stood out for me though: Superstitions, Foreign Parts, The Wishes and especially Too Much. I understood where both Shaheen and Amal were coming from but just felt like it was handled so badly and it just made me want to cry out of frustration! It was actually so heartbreaking šŸ˜

Soy Tanya. Iā€™m the youngest of the group...and I donā€™t really know what to say except that I find these things really awkward. When Linda first came to me with this idea of an online bookclub/review page I was 100% down, although I was a little worried and felt like backing out on many occasions as I felt like my reviews were awful - Iā€™m not good with words at all. If anyone was to ask me a year ago how I found a book, Iā€™d reply: ā€œgoodā€ - thatā€™s my review done. But being part of this club with such amazing girls has really made me a lot more confident and comfortable. So Iā€™ll forever be grateful. Itā€™s always a laugh when weā€™re together, we are guaranteed to get side-tracked but our meetings are always productive and a lot of fun. This is just the beginning for us. I like reading all kinds of books from different genres but prefer romance/YA. With work being full on I like feel-good books that are light and easy. Iā€™m currently in the middle of reading a few books lol but sticking to The Zanzibar Wife by Rebecca Rodriquez. Reading for me is a form of escapism, just getting away from the stress of real life and getting lost in book and falling in love with characters. I canā€™t list my top 5 or even top 10 so here are a few of my all-time favourites: The Sicilian by Mario Puzo To all the boys Iā€™ve loved before by Jenny Han, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hoseeini, The Forty Rules of Love by Shafa Kelif Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith and Moonlight Over Manhattan by Sarah Morgan.
