Willy Vlautin loves his deeply traumatic characters and heart-wrenching stories and this is the case in his latest novel! π©
Honestly, this book had me ππ½ close to crying and I donβt consider myself an easy crier.
The story covers a two-day period where we meet Lynette who is trying to get together all the money sheβs saved in the last 3 years for a deposit on their crumbling house.
We learn about some of the awful things sheβs gone through to get this money but also the things that happened to her to get her to this point in her life.
The story is almost like a car crash, you cannot help but stare at the horror thatβs unfolding.
Willy Vlautin is an exceptional writer who is definitely one of my favourites (Iβm sure youβve seen us bang on about Donβt skip out on me enough!) and this also doesnβt disappoint.
