In the spirit of Diwali and Hindu New Year here is a review of the classic Siddhartha by Herman Hesse. Siddhartha is an enchanting exploration of the meaning of faith and spiritual enlightenment. Hesseโs 1922 story, follows a young Brahmin man, Siddhartha, on his quest to separate himself from his worldly possessions and achieve a life of divine nature by following Hindu ascetics and Buddhists.
Then he throws the towel in and goes on a rampage in the complete opposite direction and lives following his humanly desires. Sounds slightly weird, and yes, it isโฆ but take the story for what it is and appreciate the messages of peace, friendship, suffering, rejection, wisdom, and finally fulfilment and I guarantee itโll show you a completely different outlook on life.
