As a fan of Matt Haig I knew I would enjoy this novel. His ability to plant a character who is not quite human onto Earth/into society always sheds a positive and interesting observation of human nature and its intricacies. At times the narrator's internal monologue became repetitive, but it could be argues that this was reinforcing his point on time being cyclical. It was also very clear who the 'bad guy' was right from the beginning, so not as much pay-off at the end. I loved the dips into different times and places, and it was a pleasant and gripping read.
